Tutorial: Leather Bow Cuff

When I saw this leather bow bracelet on Pinterest last month, I knew we would have to try making them at craft night. I combined a few tutorials and figured out a quick and easy way to make them:

What You Need:

  • leather
  • tape measure
  • needle and thread
  • 1 snap
  • scissors or rotary cutter

What You Do:

1. Cut a strip of leather. For the length: Measure around your wrist with a tape measure, and add one inch. For the width: Determine how wide you want your bracelet to be at the thickest point. (I made mine around 2 inches thick)

2. Evenly taper the ends of your strip to make a long oval. Maintain as much of the width in the center as you can.

3. Pinch the center of the strip by making even folds. It should roughly resemble a bow at this point.

4. Take a small piece of thread and wrap it tightly around the center. Tie it off in a knot and cut the ends off short (so that you can hide them later).

5. Cut a small 1/4″ – 1/2″ thick piece of leather that is just big enough to go around the center of your bow. Attach by sewing it on in the back.

6. Sew on a snap using a needle and thread. Hide your stitches for a more finished look by not sewing completely through the leather.
